About the Talking Head

The Talking Head Teaching Studio helps faculty at the University of Prince Edward Island produce quality educational materials for online, hybrid, and in-person delivery.

By improving the production value of multimedia course content, the studio’s goal is to reduce listening fatigue, promote engagement, support neurodiversity, and enhance accessibility for all.

Currently, the THT Studio is focussed on creating content that enhances Open Education Resources (OERs). OERs reduce barriers to postsecondary education by providing free learning materials, many of which either replace or supplement university and college textbooks.

Because OERs are made readily available through responsive online platforms such as Pressbooks, authors are able to embed interactive content that not only enhances learning, but that also helps ensure that best practices in accessibility are met.
