Introduction
Given the financial challenges students face in higher education, my hope with this textbook is to draw on my 20+ years of entrepreneurship experience and academic research to compile resources that reflect the general aspects of starting a business. Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability: Canada is an Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook that focuses on the practical, current, and relevant topics associated with social and environmental enterprises in Canada.
This textbook, Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability: Canada, is a collection of information gathered from a diverse range of academic disciplines, including psychology, social psychology, business, and entrepreneurship. The aim is to connect social and environmental issues to current business practices to create more awareness on innovating, developing, and funding to create sustainable solutions to cultural, social, and environmental issues. When reading the chapters in this book, keep in-mind, how do the topic relates to social entrepreneurship and social/environmental responsibility.
