Now that you have learned the basic sounds of the Mi’kmaq language, let’s try and work on recognizing the sounds as we hear them. Each of the flash cards below has the audio of a basic sound for you to listen to, and the answer on the back. These flash cards allow you to mark which questions you got right, and which you got wrong to help reinforce your learning.
Once you are confident with recognizing basic sounds, you can move onto the next exercise below, or got to Chapter 2.
Try matching the Mi’kmaw words and phrases with their meanings in English.
