crackle of fire\r\n\r\nWhile stories are told\r\n\r\nOf how they were \u201chired\u201d\r\n\r\nUntil they were old\u2013\r\n\r\nMy mother and father\r\n\r\nRemember the day\r\n\r\nWhen men from far yonder\r\n\r\nDrove all joy away.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nThe battles were bloody,\r\n\r\nThe sorrows were deep;\r\n\r\nI lost many loved ones,\r\n\r\nI lost so much sleep.\r\n\r\nThe pain, it grew harder\r\n\r\nAs the days, they grew long.\r\n\r\nThe dead were increasing\r\n\r\nAs the war carried on.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nAll blessings to Heaven\r\n\r\nAnd the wisdom of old,\r\n\r\nTo those who
