and the precious,\r\nenvisioning and admiring the women who had adorned them.\r\n\r\nI am from secret hiding places under the stairs,\r\naccompanied by Nannie\u2019s\u00a0perfumey\u00a0coats,\r\nice cream sandwiches, and mouse traps.\r\n\r\nFrom large, inviting trees, perfect for climbing, for hiding-and-seeking,\r\nfor exploring and pretending \u2013\r\nwatching those trees grow older with me.\r\n\r\nI am from gravel crunching beneath tires when Mom pulls up the long driveway,\r\npeeking from my perch on the chair behind lacey curtains,\r\na weekend\u2019s quiet coming to an end.\r\n\r\nI am from Nannie standing in her doorway,\r\nher figure getting smaller and smaller,\r\nwaving goodbye for now \u2013\r\n\r\nsee you soon.","rendered":"<p>I am from weathered red bricks
